Hello folks

I have narrowed between all of these amazing brands and speakers which not go wrong with one of them.

Philharmonic 3 with olive burl veneere
Revel F208
Revel F52
Salk RT2TL
Salk HT3

At the time they will a stereo system, with a Mcintosh or bryston amp....

Thx....

The Salks and the Phil3 should be voiced similar as are the Revels so narrow it down from there.

Might I make one recommendation?

RBH SX-8300. MSRP is $5K, but actual street price should be much less, especially b-stock from dealers.

And if you are in the mood for trading speakers, I would be willing to trade you my mahogany piano high gloss Phil3 (MSRP $4,700) for the RBH SX-8300, if you end up not liking them. :D

The Revels and especially the RBH's will have a lot more output capability than the Salks and likely the Philharmonics. Consider your room size, listening preferences, etc. The Revels and RBH's are probably the least attractive looking speakers of the bunch. All of the speakers on your list are good but there are trade offs to consider.

Phil3 +/- 2dbs 25hz to 20khz, ht3 +/-3db 29khz to 60hz doesn't seem to be lacking creditable output between those two. I'd agree that listening preference should be considered and IMHO the biggest factor when choosing between this speakers

Those specs do not list at what output level they were taken. Also the Salk and Phils have a single woofer as opposed to multiple woofers on the RBH and Revels. Plus the ribbon tweeters generally never have the same output capabilities of the very best domes. I have had many Salk speakers in my room to listen to. They sound fabulous but they can't play very loudly without either bottoming out or experiencing some distress. Now the Soundscape models may be different but those are my experiences with their lower end towers and bookshelf speakers.

Understood.. didn't find any 3rd party reviews that have spl vs extension numbers for the others. As for the single driver, speaking only for the Phil3, a mltl will make up for multiple drivers in some instances. My comment about listening preference would be the deciding factor between those listed as again IMHO only.

Are the McIntosh or Bryston amps new or used? :D

And how much are they? :D

I hope they are not like $6K for the amps and $3K for the speakers. :)

Eggcelent point: Consider this - dedicate 80% towards speakers and 20% toward electronics to get best results

I wonder what the total budget is? $10K for amps + speakers? Does he already have a receiver or pre-pro? And while we're at it, what is the room size?

What if the price isn't relevant?? Yes many amps offer insane dollar to performance ratios but why do all high dollar amps get the negative rep? Maybe someone wants McIntosh, loves the build quality and the pretty blue meters along with the " I own a Mac" is that bad or is it I can't afford it so it's stupid. You can buy a new Vette that has the performance 3x less the the price of others does that mean some shouldn't get the other??

If someone is looking at the op listed speakers I'm sure a high dollar amp isn't gonna stop the kids from going to college

Nothing "wrong" or "stupid" about getting a McIntosh or Bryston amp.

It's just different than what most of us would do and interesting to see.

Personally, I don't believe in assigning a percentage to the speakers/amps budget. But it's still interesting to talk about.

Very good. I love McIntosh amps and their cool blue lights. :D

So just out of curiosity, how much are the pre-owned McIntosh amps selling for?

I'm big proponent for extended listening sessions to decide what is right for each person. I like the science but that only goes so far as people do have varying tastes in sound just like they do with food, wine and women :)

I don't like the RBH SX-8300, it may perform extremely, but also the appearance and the finish/veneer also will important.

i need to collect between the two as possible, performance and the finish,

also I am very interesting with the RAAL tweeter as I read before. I have read a Good reviews on it.

the revel F208 will an amazing choice, as well as phil3 and salks.

also the PSB synchrony one is one of I am interested.
