Cerwin Vega vintage power Amps were developed and used for the movies like earthquake in Censoron and the movie presiding adventure.
They stored these giant 18 inch woofers under the seats in the movie theaters to create the real effects of being in an earthquake these huge speakers needed huge power amps to maintain the sound.
Henceforth the creation of the first series of huge power amps with huge transformers and capacitors ever made in the United States
Most of them were built in Hollywood California.
The history of these power amp goes as far as 1958.
This year was the first huge power amps to not use any tubes they had tremendously large capacitors and transistors and large transistorized caps sometimes holding 10 to15 and 20 output caps per amplifier
They had raw power some as high as 500 watts per channel others as low as 300 watts per channel which was needed to push these huge 18-inch woofers they were placed all over the movie theater to create the sound of the movie and to put you in it.
Later these power amplifiers were used in disco clubs all over the world.
Studio 54 the down under iniquities and many other nightclubs used the Cerwin Vega speakers and amplifiers they will bulletproof and last forever I have owned 12 of them I still have three after all these years they all are still working like new....
