Don't let the "blonde" label fool you. This is a full bodied beer and its quite good. One has to travel to New Brunswick Canada to get it.

That Dunsmuir near Shasta? Don't remember that place but it's been a while since I cruised thru there....
just cheated and looked at the website, yep probably haven't been thru there since 2009.

I am now trying something from my former state of California, rather than my current Oregonian state of mind, from the venerable Sierra Nevada Brewing, their current Celebration Ale...http://www.sierranevada.com/beer/seasonal/celebration-ale

Yes, just south of Shasta. Good stuff there.

Went to Martin House Brewing Co's halloween event yesterday. Had three Martin House beers:
Acheron, a whiskey barrel aged imperial stout
Sea Witch, a whiskey barrel aged black gose
Christmas in July, a whiskey barrel aged barleywine

Also had a number of samples from the multiple guest breweries on site. My favorite was the bourbon barrel aged Bigger NTX Stout. I enjoyed many samples of that :)

I attended a dinner during SF Beer Week several years back where the beers were mated to various courses, the above being dessert. I remember scrounging the tables for any leftovers of this stuff!

Our running joke on this one--When you fill your glass with water afterwards to rinse the glass--Then you have another glass of Budweiser to drink. The rinse from this one looks about like Bud :D

The barrel aged version is available this month. They also have a BA Java version but it's brewery taproom only :(

Did you know that Oskar Blues opened a brewery in Austin?
https://www.oskarblues.com/brewery/austin
I know. I am definitely not one of the people who will travel that far for beer. I see plenty of people head down to Austin for rare Jester King releases or whatever but I'm not that dedicated. There are plenty of beers available up here that I've never bought/tried :D I actually have a bunch of beers that have been in my fridge/pantry for months/years that I've not gotten around to trying yet.

With that being said, I am pretty sure BA Java Ten Fidy is only at the brewery taprooms in Longmont, CO and Brevard, NC. I didn't see the Austin location on the list :/

I didn't check the Austin list.

Yeah, Jester King has a really nice setup out there in the Hill Country. It's really more like Dripping Springs, not really Austin. It's a fairly large estate with plenty of room outside. Since they opened, that entire area has had some other breweries and distilleries open up for business.

Whether it's close to Dripping Springs or not, it's still in Austin lol. I would like to make it out to that brewery one of these days though.

Here are some more recent beers. Sorry if there are any duplicates!

If any of yall are on untappd, feel free to add me :D

I have to ask, where are you getting your glasses? I recently moved away from DFW to New Braunfels (40mi south of Austin) and haven't found anywhere locally to buy some to replace mine that got broken.

Also, anyone got any good stout recommendations? Lakewood Temptress is one of my favorites.

You should pretty much give all the stouts I have posted a try. The only one I did not like was Evil Twin's I Love You With My Stout. For whatever reason I couldn't stand that beer.

If you want specific recommendations, here are a bunch of great ones:
Avery Tweak
Epic Big Bad Baptist
Community Legion & barrel aged Legion
Prairie Bomb!
Alesmith Speedway Stout
Sierra Nevada Narwhal & barrel aged Narwhal
Southern Star Buried Hatchet & the barrel aged version which is Black Crack
Founders Imperial Stout
North Coast Old Rasputin
Oskar Blues Ten Fidy
New Holland Dragon's Milk
Left Hand Wake Up Dead Nitro
