Jax - awesome photos.

Dorm life - you gotta love it. Best years ever! Image the beer consumed in that room. You could fill a swimming pool. Nothing beats living in a sardine can for 4 years. ;)

I wish I had taken photos of our dorm room. No digital cameras back then - heck, we just got in room telephones our sophomore year! Cable tv - c'mon. Internet? No way, although we were able to communicate with other universities - but the Mac was the computer of choice. The computer classes back then were pascal - what a pita. It took a month to write a program to mimic a perpetual calendar. Fortran was much quicker.

Our "stereo" back in 1991 consisted of a 40wpc Technics receiver (old slide style tuner), a Teac cd player, Toshiba auto reverse cassette deck with dolby nr (no b/c yet), and 4 tower speakers - stacked. The speakers were a pair of AAL (american acoustic labs) with a 12" woofer, 4" mid and horn tweeter, and the other pair were Technics - same size divers but a paper cone tweeter. I bet the spl on those speakers were over 100dB. We literally rocked the entire dormatory and were written up every weekend.

The Harry Buffalo parties were legendary!

Man that room is a mess....:D
I see way to many infractions.
I think we will have to send the campus police to your dorm,
we will be sending one of out new police auction patrol cars.
The fellows will be knocking on your door, you had better run and hide
(or actually run and hide your beer)
For a heads up, here is what the campus patrol car looks like...

At least you've got your priorities in order. :D

It's not easy when you're a student. But armed with the knowledge that you so clearly possess, you've achieved far more with a small budget that many a fool with too much money to burn and no clue whatsoever about audio. For that you are to be congratulated.

Well done mate. :)

So Jaxvon, Whats your perfered brew? If you answer this question wrong, you might not see the light of another day. I'm a beer only person, and I will not say why. ;)

My preferred brew depends on the day, my mood, and the situation I'm drinking in. I don't usually drink liquor, but if I do, I prefer fruity mixed drinks, Crown Royal and Arrow Peppermint on the Rocks, Jager Bombs, or Single Malt on the Rocks (hardly get that last one :( ).

As for brew, I like all of the following. What wins depends on many variables.

Corona Extra
Guiness
Killians
Heineken
Honey Brown
Newcastle Brown
Grizzly Peak Steelhead Red (local microbrew)

If I'm partying and more interested in volume and saving money my beer of choice is MGD Longnecks.

Honey brown what? Sleemans? Thats my favorite high-quality brew (though not very high).

Kokanne is my favorite all round beer. I suggest trying it. You won't go back. I only really drink those beers, as I need nothing better(if it even exists). Guiness is good, but you need a draught glass and time to drink it. Stella Artois is also good, but they are not twist tops, and they are a little expensive.

Yeah, I once drank to much Vodka (lets say, a 26 in 45minutes) and I now gag if I try to drink anything 35% or above. And yes, I was wasted. :D Whoops, I wasn't supposed to say that.

After spending 3 years in Germany I refuse to drink American beer. Call it my boycott of "****ty beer".

Isn't it sadly ironic that a college-themed thread degenerates into a discussion about alcohol? Back on topic...my HT system!

How low have you gotten your STF-1 to go? Whats the loudest note(Hz) played so far? I bet my DPS-12 can beat it! :p

Interesting discovery of the night:

While installing some felt around the tweeters to reduce diffraction, I found that all of my DV-62si bookshelves have surface mounted drivers while my DV-62CLR has flush mounted drivers. Hmmmm....
