Not only does the song rock

but so does this video!! Thanks for the pick-me-up. I'll buy this album just to hear this song and think of this guy's dancing.

I like what I've heard so far.:)

It's always hard to tell from the combo of youtube vids and my crappy computer speakers what to expect.
a) +1 - I do like what I hear - never heard the name before, but "I'm howling for you" was a big hit so I heard it before without catching the band name.
I'm considering now their NYC show on 03/22/2012 - Madison Square - Wow, These guys could fill such a big arena - hope the tickets would cheaper than Madonna ;):D

b) They don't have to be crappy  (regarding computer speakers)

I managed to scoop up one of the few remaining vinyl copies of this album in my part of the world. It comes with a poster and a CD..for $29.95.

I only had time to listen to side A of this album. I must admit from knowing TBKs that this album is way different than any other previous work. Their direction on this album is definately more mainstream rock. Elements still exist of their previous raw edge but it has been toned down considerably. Personally, I hope they don't go too far into this direction and evolve into a "me too" band.

The quality of the recording is typical Black Keys but better again then "Brother" Their vocals always sound like they are being recorded as being over driven from a recording levels perspective.

Do I like this album? I can't say right now. There are some definately good songs on side A.. It will most likely grow on me.

I love the new album. Lonely Boy is a refreshing kickass bass line but with definite Black Keys style. I haven't delved into the later tracks in the album but I liked what I heard so far. I am a BK fan though, so I may be a bit biased. I can somewhat agree with the comment above how their sound may have been mainstreamed a bit but it's still BK all the way.

I took a pint with me down to my man cave and finished listening to this album. From a Black Key's perspective, I am disappointed in this album and I'm going to have to alter my paradigm when listening to this album. The previous album "Brothers" is a far meatier album in every respect from lyrics to music. This album is mainstream. I am disappointed in this release. I too am a Black Keys fan owning all their releases plus some concert footage DVDs .

Expect a live cd to come out of this show.

Yeah, I see what 3dB is saying about this album. I like it, but not as much as the others I own. A few tracks are excellent, but the rest are good but just not pushing my buttons. Been listening to it for a few weeks.

I must admit that it has grown on me a bit more now. However, because I know the Black Keys' previous work, I find this album somewhat fustrating because I know the Black Keys are capable of much better..aka their previous release "Brothers".

Agreed. On Brothers, there are no tracks that I skip. On this one, there are a few tracks that I get tired of and tend to skip about half way through. I really love this one though:

Agreed. That's one of the better songs on that album.

Just ordered Dan Aurbach's solo album Keep It Hid because it is currently on sale for $9.99 on Amazon.

Let me know what you think of it. I may have to scoop it up myself.
Sorry, forgot to post up about it. I like it so far. It is sort of a mellower extension of Brothers. Clearly a similar mind-set and has some similarities (in a good way), but is toned down from it.
