Finally made it home from work and i was super excited to see the thing sitting in my garage. Got it all unpacked and started charging the remote. The this is in impeccable condition. Not a scratch on the thing anywhere and even had the front protective film on it unlike the 635 i received. I cant wait to get it hooked up! Thats a project for tomorrow though. the thing looks way better built than the past one and looks as if it has a torroidal transformer (anyone know for sure?). Its heavier, thats for sure.

As far as the surge protector. It is just average build but the LCD readouts are cool and so is the 12V switching. It is big though and doesnt belong on the rack. I had a fuss with the stickers on the LCD. They weren't just the static cling stickers, they were the scrape off with your fingernail type. That sucked. It does seem to work though, but i dont think much different than the previous one i had. Oh well, i needed more outlets! Looks like my voltage hoovers around 121-123V and draws about .5A with the sattelite on, subwoofer on, and pioneer receiver on at 56db below reference (quite).

I will give a better opinion tomorrow after i give the HK a hard run to see what it has. I just hope this one works as it should.

Hooked it all up and played it but havnt had time to tune it or even run the EQ. It still sounds so amazing. mThe harmony remote that comes with it has bad asthetics and is very hard to use and get used to. I am hearing stuff in songs i hav elistened to a million times and never heard due to lack of detail in the old receiver. At high levels this thing really shines and is LOUD. Now i need a better sub b/c the psw10 i have bottoms out and i cant turn it up very loud. But since i bought a pickup today, i am broke. More reveiws to come soon!
