Yeah, we fell in love with that lamp when we saw it and it just happened to be on a President's day sale, so we couldn't pass it up. I picked up the Pioneer for $5 at a yard sale. Still works great and was almost new inside, like it was never used!

Yep, sold the 902s to a friend and picked these guys up from the guy who originally turned me on to GR - these are the first pair of GRs I ever heard actually. He built some of their new surrounds so he didn't need these ones anymore. Not sure what the tweeter is exactly, as this is the first generation, but I believe it was also a treated silk dome. I may actually rebuild these guys completely with all the new drivers and x-overs. My buddy also has some old cabinets so if I rebuild these, I'll have the drivers left over and I may actually end up with another set of A/V-1s too.

G Gatorchong Audioholic Jul 14, 2004 104 0 0 Mar 26, 2007 #8 I was so close to buying that same amp a couple years ago. It's class A for the first 25 watts if I recall. Nice system.

j_garcia Audioholic Jedi Jul 11, 2005 32,531 0 113 Mar 26, 2007 #9 It is a solid amp for the money and I got a great deal on it brand new. You can run in it Class A mode so it is 25w only, or in AB mode where it is as you said ClassA for the first 25w and AB for the balance of the output; rated at 95w (tested to actually put out 105x2 @ 8 Ohms in a review though).
