How's Joe doing in the polls ? ;)
That's my point. You say a lot of us (conservatives) don't want Trump yet he leads in the primary. By a large amount. Then you switch to Joe, so it's someone else's fault? I dunno.

do you understand the polls to begin with ? I sure as hell hope you aren't silly enough to put complete faith in them ! Regardless, we're talking 'primaries' here !

As for Joe, someone else's fault ?? what are you talking about ??

My point was look at 'the polls'(even among Dems), what's the percentage that wants him to run again ? understood ?

Name me one reason why I should have faith in Republicans regarding Trump. The way I remember is a majority of the primary polls show Trump with a huge lead.

I'm saying it doesn't matter what the polls say on Joe. If it's Joe vs Trump a lot of people will still vote Joe. If it's Joe vs insertnamehere well yeah than it does.

Dude, let me put it to you another way, with a question........ what percentage of registered Democrats do you think are happy that Joe has decided to run for 4 more years ?

40%.

How many Republicans are happy Trump wants to run again?

A: Enough to win the primary.

(A brief look has him at a minimum a 12 pt lead.)

Not the definitive but interesting take. Head-to-head DeSantis has the edge in a number of polls, but amongst a primary field Trump.
I always wonder, where these polls are, how they start and how people get picked to cast their vote. In all my 70 years, I've never seen a poll on anything come my way on any topic.

I just type in the keyword and go down the first page. It had Fox, Quinnipiac, Morning Consult, Reuters, etc. About 8-10. I figured if they're all within the margins there's some consistency to it.

Starting with Fox as a first reference is not a good tactic.:D

Murdoch does want Trump out, so that's a good thing. Hopefully there will be no more Trump talk and DeSantis (or anyone really) gets more exposure. It wouldn't surprise me though if his polls are closer to create interest in DeSantis.

I've heard closer to 30% but regardless ........

if one looks at the MAGA nut jobs alone I agree, my hope is that in the coming months when all the realistic candidates are identified we can put Trump towards the back of the bus. Time will tell but as I said before if I had to pick today Tim Scott would be my choice.

One more thing to remember when it comes to the Pub primary , the abortion issue, while it will have a minimal impact in the primary come the general election next year it becomes another matter entirely.

Me to. Enough is enough with Trump. If this countries voters pick a narcissistic crook again the end is near for life as we know it. We will sell out to Putin that has to be a given. IN a March interview ( radio) with Hannity, Trump’s main line on the Ukraine has been to blame the invasion on Joe Biden. "
But then he mentioned, as an aside, that the reason Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if Trump was president is that Trump would have made a deal to hand over chunks of its territory to Russia:

"" [Putin] would have never done it. That’s without even negotiating a deal. I could have negotiated. At worst, I could’ve made a deal to take over something, there are certain areas that are Russian-speaking areas, frankly, but you could’ve worked a deal. ""
And then there is Jan 6th where Trumps own daughter wanted her dad to stop the protest, but he didn't. We do not need Trump in 2024. But the Trumps supporters appear to be under the The illusory truth effect, also known as the illusion of truth, describes how, when we hear the same false information repeated again and again, we often come to believe it is true. Troublingly, this even happens when people should know better—that is, when people initially know that the misinformation is false.

Trump is a reflection of what the voters want and not some illusory explanation. Since their MO is owning the libs, Trump fits that by being vile. He is also a very one-dimensional speaker, but that works for them to because it's hate and repetition. That's what sells. Albeit difficult to call it a Cult of Personality since he spews hate in front of the mic consistently.
