I cannot express myself with all the new technical jargon, so this is based on what my ears, eyes and physical strength which I think I am average. The weight at about 50lbs is not that big a deal to work with unless your placing it above your head. It does get warm like a Yamaha but not hot like I have been hearing so much about, I bought a cooling fan and I do not feel I will need it! The intruction manual and speaker arrangement( connecting the wires in the back) is so much better to work with then the Denon. My Denon has 100watts vs Onkyo 140, I thought this would make a difference in the sound Quality. But it did not! I am pushing the top Of the line Definitve speakers 5.1 setup. I must have over 4,000 watts in the speakers. What surprised me the most, the Denon sounded sharper & clearer then the Onkyo. With all the extra and newer modes I thought for sure I would find one better then the Denon? I called there tech support and ask why, they said because I am not receiveing a true surround signal, only two channel. I am using regular CDs, and Sat TV inputs. Both are connected by Optical digital cables. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Cds and sat music was surround sound not just FM stereo. At any rate the Denon seems to reproduce the sound better the Onkyo 875, so I am sending this baby back. Hope this was helpful? Was looking forward to up gradeing but I feel I have alot to learn!
