I do not know much about Jamo, I did listen to a pair of Book Shelfs about 9 years ago and they retailed for about $1K per speaker and I was floored at the sound quality from a 2 way bookshelf with only a 6" woofer. I seem to always hear good things........ That is all I can add.

ive owned a pair of d450's for about four years now. good sounding speakers and beautifully made. real high waf! i have a large difficult room and was originally driving them with an hk avr635. sounded good but lacked punch. ive since upgraded to an emotiva xpa-2 and its really opened them up. they are kinda difficult to power effectively. i am soon upgrading to emo 8.3 or totem forrest, not because the 450's arent good speakers, i just have the itch. hope this helps.

Could you give me a quick review of the sound?
Do they sound similar to others....Paradigm, B&W, Quad?

they are very detailed. neutral, not at all bright or fatiguing. specs say they cross over at 36, but that seems a little generous. if you wanna get hit in the chest, you'll probably need a decent sub. 89 db sensitivity is spec, but as i stated previously, they can be difficult to drive in a challenging environment. if you are looking at the pair on audiogon, they stated new retail at $1598. that is a little inflated. i got mine for $1200 right out of the box. what kind of amp are you going to drive this with? my harmon kardon 635 was rated at 75x7 high current watts and hk is renowned for conservative specs for power. as i mentioned earlier, the receiver struggled at reference levels. when i upgrade to new speakers, i have the option to move my jamos to my secondary system that uses a onkyo 605 (90wx7) but im very hesitant, because i dont think the onkyo has the balls to pull it off. dont get me wrong, these are great speakers with the right amplification and setting.

Hey Moe (in best curly voice)
Yes I am looking at those but shhh, it's a secret.
I have an Onkyo 805. Very strong amp section, should be able power those.
You say they are very detailed and not bright. I've found those two things don't generally go together, I'm no audiophile though.
Would you say paradigms or Monitor Audio are bright? Maybe I don't quite know what is considered bright. Or maybe I'm mixing clean+clear with bright.
How is imaging and soundstage?

didnt mean to let out the secret sorry(however, that is a great price) .by detailed but not bright, i mean not strident or fatiguing. the imaging is good id say sound stage about what you would expect from a $1000-$1500 pair of speakers. id say you would be pleased.
