Telescopic monitor mount on a runway

Hi there. I have a problem that I'd like to engineer a solution for-but before I do I want to make sure that nobody has solved this one yet.

I have a 11'wx19'lx9'h home theater room. One 'feature' I have in the room is an HTPC which is connected both to my television set and to a 19" LCD monitor. I have the LCD monitor connected to the computer using a 25' (or maybe it's 50') DVI to HDMI cable. I've also run a USB cable from the monitor to the computer. Attached to the monitor is my wireless keyboard/mouse receiver. Currently the monitor sits on a little cart with wheels, which works well enough but it is an obstruction between my speakers and my ears when deployed.

What I'd like to do is this-have some sort of swivel mount (180 degs min, 360 would be nice) in the middle of the ceiling and attach a telescopic arm that can go from 5' to 12'. The system would need to be easily adjustable to different positions in the room, work well with the cables, and sturdy. Currently there is a ceiling fan with a light fixture which I could remove that I beleive would support this kind of things pretty easily. Alternately, rather than having a swivel mount (or in addition to having a swivel mount) would be a runway (think track lighting) that I could use down the width of the room or back half of the length of the room.

So the question is-has anyone done this? I'm assuming that the parts already exist and it's just a matter of finding the right place to buy them-and suggestions?

thanks in advance
