Hey guys I am in the market for a new sub.

I have been doing a lot of research and listening over the last few months. I have come down to a few subs, but I have some questions.

I stopped by my local Hi Fi shop and the salesman suggested a Def Tech sub to me. I told him my price range was about $500-$700, but if I wait a few weeks this could be as much as $1000. He pointed me to either their supercube line or their ProSub 1000. Any thoughts on these subs?

I am also looking at .....

SVS PB12

Outlaw LFM-1 EX, or Plus

AV123

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?....

My room right now is 12x15, but I will be moving into a house in the fall and want a sub that will have enough output to sustain a larger room.

Thanks

That 15" from AV123 or the one from Emotiva (same company) looks pretty good.

If you go with Def Tech, I say just get the ProSub.

So many good subs out there -- SVS is, of course, always one of the favorite around here.

I guess you could get a Def Tech ProSub just to try it out for free. Then return it.

Thanks for the advice. I found the Supercube 1 to be very appealing, as it is very small and seems to have good specs. But I may just pick up the ProSub like you and if I don't like it just drop it right back in their lap. I got to hear the ProSub a little bit at the store, but it wasn't set up in a demo room, it was just on the main floor, which was probably 2-3 thousand square feet. It kinda sounded boomy to me, but maybe it was just the setup.

Yeah, those SuperCubes sure look cute and elegant. I can imagine them sitting on an elegant pedestal.

I think if you are looking for a LITTLE subwoofer, then the SC-I is good. But if you are looking for absolute bass output, you may have to look for bigger subs from those other companies.

Thanks for the tip man. I will probably try the ProSub, not like it and order an Outlaw, wait for the outlaw to come in, then take the ProSub back. :)

I love 30-day Return policies.:D

Aperion also has the 30-day return policy where they give you free shipping to your house and free shipping back to Aperion! Totally free!!!

All the other online places can't offer that.

WOW. Those Aperion's are quite sexy subwoofers. Are they any good? Those would match my environment perfectly!

Aperion is very confident that once you have listened to their speakers and subwoofers, you will want to keep them. They are betting on it. Free shipping both ways.

I've heard a lot of good things about Aperion, but I have never actually listened to them.

There is only one way to find out, and it won't cost you a dime.:D
