I've got a little project myself that I'll eventually get around to posting about. Its fun boosting the lowest frequencies and watch the woofers start moving! My hearing is incredibly sensitive, so I can't do it for long, and signal sweeps require me to wear hearing protection, but oh man can woofers move!
