For those who can't afford the OLED bandwagon, this looks like an interesting step forward in LCD technology by jumping LED backlighting up to over 1,000 zones. Paired with the generally well-received quantum tech from TCL, this sounds like it is a solid step forward for the technology and hopefully the big manufacturers will take notice. Samsung, LG, and Sony could really sparkle by introducing this tech into their more constant high-quality displays that they bring to the market. A nice 900 series Sony 85" TV with 1,000+ local zones of LED backlighting? Yes, please!!!
