Iirc Dave wrote and tracked almost every single thing on the first album. It was basically a demo.
He also tracked most of the stuff on the colour and the shape if memory serves. Their
“original”(second)drummer tracked the drums but Dave retracked drums. Kinda like on never mind lol. Imo it was the right choice.
Btw. I just heard that Dave did a thrash metal album. Not sure of details yet. I feel horrible for the band but especially Dave.

Part of the plot of their movie revolves around writing a song and Dave plays some downright thrashy and heavy riffs throughout the movie that I thought was much heavier than the usual Foo Fighters fare. Sounded really good too. I'd be pretty keen to check out a Dave Grohl thrash album.

He did not die of an overdose though, it basically said his heart gave out. His heart was 2X the weight of a typical person. Very sad that, in this day and age, guys are still dying of heavy drug use.

In sudden situations like this with these guys that have overdone things their whole life, this is the usual outcome. It's sad. I'm sure he had a lot more music in him. That's just the selfish part.

Doesn't even take into account his loved ones and how they feel. This is terrible for all of them I'm sure. He was only 12 years older than me. My kids will be 20 and under in 12 years.

Read and watch local news- opioid deaths are extremely high. He had 10 different drugs in his system, according to the article I saw.

From what I saw he did but none particularly the cause, just a body that couldn't take it no more.

Ten drugs will interact and unless the amount of each is known, a chemist and pathologist would probably be needed in order to determine the effects from them being in his system at the same time- I haven't seen anything about what organ(s) failed, leading to his death.

They said his heart was ~600 grams vs. an average person's heart being 300-350 max. He had cardiovascular failure is what I read.

I thought I'd typed no one particularly the cause instead it came out none. Yes, combinations can be bad but he was somewhat experienced, too. The enlarged heart was also part of what I'd seen.

I intended to check it out when I came back from Mexico. But while I was away, I saw the news about Taylor. Dave will never be the same.

Dave is definitely an excellent rock drummer. I wonder if Taylor ever got over the pressure of being Dave Grohls drummer? FWIW I’d also like to hear more foo fighters, and Dave tracking drums would be great.

Im seeing it available to stream on Amazon but can't seem to locate a cd. It's hard to figure out what the deal is with this band, in that it looks almost like a one off tribute type thing with lots of nods and winks at some good old school heavy metal.

I remember Probot! Been quite a while since I've listened to any of it. In fact I don't think I've even heard the whole album. Might have to revisit and check it out again too.

He may have had experience, but I doubt he used a PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) to learn about the effects. I understand people who want to get wasted, but not the reason for taking ten different drugs.
