Supervij is right, they are authorized dealers for everything they carry. I'm not a huge fan of 2001 Audio Video but it is where I purchased all my speakers from. I got my PSB 2B's for $319 for the first pair and $300 for the second pair and $285 for the 8C. All prices include tax. They had a "blow out sale" where they were selling 2B's off for $350 plus tax but the salesguy had a lot of wiggle room. I know how they got to carry PSB and for a long time the whole array of Marantz receivers up to the 7400. Lenbrook was the distributer fo PSB and Marantz and they sold out all of the old image series stock to 2001 and let them carry Marantz as well. This resulted in my local shop (Whitby Audio Video) dropping both brands despite the fact that they are the local authorized repair shop for both. I guess being in the same province as the manufacturer has some advantages. One problem with 2001 is that they are very sales focused. They like to really sell hard since they're commision based. If you can put up with some high pressure tactics (not really that bad but annoying) you can get some great deals from this shop. I've never got less than 15% off of a purchase there yet. My second problem is that the selection of subwoofers is atrocious and everyone they have working there seems to swear by Cerwin Vega, lol. My other problem is that much of the staff isn't that well schooled in Audio despite the fact that they carry what I believe are some great brands. Think Futureshop employees with better products to sell. That can really work to your advantage however, since they don't know what they are selling, you can make it seem like you're upset with the price, or do what I did, quote them a lower price and see if they'll match it. I was 2 days away from ordering from the States before I went in there. The PSB selection is pretty limited. Alphas, minis, 4Ts, 5Ts and 1Bs were all they had the last time I was there but that was months ago. They do have a website; 2001audiovideo.com and they have a clearence centre in Toronto, I think it's on Markham Rd. but you'll have to check. They carry Mission speakers, all the Yamaha amps and several of their speakers, entry level Marantz, what I think is a house brand called Reference, and a nice selection of TV's and a few Projectors as well including the new Panny on this site that got such great reviews (like Supervij said). If you are in Whitby again though, and want to have a little fun in a higher end shop, go to Whitby Audio Video. They carry Monitor Audio, Linn, Paradigm, NAD, Anthem, Bryston, and a ton of other high end stuff. The downstairs rooms are movie theatres and they have demos and consignments around all the time. They have a website too, whitbyaudiovideo.com. I know they were clearing out the 05 series from Denon at some decent prices, but they don't have the inventory of say Bay Bloor Radio. Anyways to make a long story short, 2001 Audio Video is really worth checking out. The prices are usually great, the selection is better than most places despite the small size, and they are authorized dealers.
