Well, the T-Amp fried today, being fed from a power supply the EXACT same power specs as theirs...why might you ask? Internal arcing....

Hooray for shoddy design!

Needless to say, I loved it's sound, but I'm NOT spending godawful amounts of money for NiMH batteries to run one since it apparently cannot handle a simple DC power supply....also I'm not buying a new one.

That said, if I got to another speaker/amp setup for the computer it will probably be the yamaha CAVIT system....at least the world knows it will behave right

....yes right now I'm smelling burnt electronics as I type this...and no, it does NOT smell of elderberries sweet....

...oh and it might have blown a tweeter on my cerwin vega V5Ms I was using as my PC speakers...at least it didn't kill my soundcard....

Sorry that happened.

Two questions...

What is a T-amp?

And how do those V5Ms sound?

T-amp is a small portable amp made by sonic impact. They are dirt cheap, and lots of peoeple have been rather impressed by it's audioi quality. so I gave it a try, at $30 it's worth a shot.

The V5Ms not a bad speaker at all, I got mine on sale for $50 a year and a half ago. They have their weaknesses, but overall it's hard to find better at that price. They aree also efficienmt enough to get pretty loud on just a few watts, let alone what you could do if you were to push the thing to it's limits. IMO, if you cared more about loud in a home theater setup, their V-series would do that for cheap. The bass is also rather good for a low-dollar 5" setup.
