system upgrade need advise

I need help on the system I have.
I have all polk speakers towers rt800, sub &center plus two bookshelves R2
I have a kenwood receiver that I have to replace. I think the Yamaha RXV663 is where I am leaning. This is a 7.1 and I don't know what speakers to get to go with this system. Should I loose the r2's and go with something else?
I love the towers they are great with the sub. I have a new TV and want to get this sorround sound upgraded.

Any thought would be helpful.

We need some more information before we can start giving out suggestions:

What is your TOTAL budget (receiver and speakers)?

What do you plan on using the new receiver for and what inputs do you need?

Do you plan on running 7.1 (why?) or just 5.1?

What style speaker do you want (floor or bookshelf)?

What do you and don't you like about your current speakers that make you want to replace them?

On the receiver I want to run everything thru it. (blueray cd changer wee ect) I look to spend 5-600 for it.
The bookshelves set behind my chair about 10 feet and they don't seem to be enough. It's hard to tell untill I get the receiver. The Kenwood I have does not send anything to them.
I would like to ren 7.1 but what speakers for these other two?Spend 100.00 for them each?
