Hi guys,
I'm a new member and first time posting. Here's my story:
My old cathodic tube broke about 3 weeks ago and i figure it is time to go high tech. I spend sleepless nights on many sites, especially Audioholics, and visited 4-5 retail stores in order to acquire a min. amount of knowledge required to build a HD home theatre system. It is for my 15 x 15 family room. Lots of light and activity.I will list the system below and please let me know how I did.
Note that i live in Canada and the prices paid are converted in US$. As usual prices might seem high because electronics are more expensive north of the border. Here we go:
HDTV - Sharp Aquos 46" LED (LE700UN) - $ 1500 (employee prices)
Blue Ray - Sharp BD-HP22U - $200 (empl. prices)
Receiver - Onkyo TX-SR 607 - $540
Speakers - Energy True Classic 5.1 (replaced the 200 W subwoofer with400 W) $545.
HDPVR - Ilico - I think Atlanta scientific 8300 - $420
Remote - Harmony 880 - $170
Cables - 4 for $38 - landed cost from monprice.
Speakers for a second room - JBL 2.4 wireless - $320
Thank you for your feedback.
