I posted this message in the General category as well...

I have the following components/equipment and they are working ok, but I believe they could work much better...

Receiver: Denon AVR4308CI
Front Speakers: Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000
Rear Speakers: Definitive Technology ProMonitor 800
Center Speaker: Definitive Technology CLR2300BLA
Subwoofer: Definitive Technology SuperCube III
Blu-ray: Samsung BD-P2550
PVR: Motorola DCH3416
Rear Projector: Sony Cineza

Sorry if this info is too generic, but I don't want to bombard anyone with details, unless they are interested.

If anyone would be willing to make suggestions, please send them my way. There are some aspects I do not fully understand, yet, especially with the center speaker, which has a built-in sub and the subwoofer itself.

Thanks in advance for your interest. Hopefully I will be able to help out in the future.

I am not aware of a true center speaker with a sub in it. subwoofers are woofers generally 10 inches or more in size that are responsible for producing sound below that of your systems woofer.

LFE(Low Frequency Emitter) is actually a more technical term for it.

As far as improving your system. I can't honestly make any suggestions other than moving your surrounds to the side. They aren't rears in a 5.1 setup. Though they are often called that. you could upgrade to 7.1 if you have the space. And I'm thinking the Def Tech may not be a great sub. An SVS might be a great upgrade.

For your info - true center speakers with powered subs

...
Definitive Technology Makes three C/l/R (Center Left Right) true centers with powered subs CLR3000 (10" sub), CLR2500 (8" sub), and CLR2300 (8" sub) ;)

Now you are aware.
