its down to these 2. I am interested in the SVS cylinders (Plus 20-39), or the HSU HO. Im wondering if anyone can offer input about these 2 subs? I like the look of the cylinders... to bad HSU discontinued them...

Either one is a very fine sub...if you like the tube anyway with the new driver...very interesting.

You gotta go with the new Plus driver. It looks like an Adire clone. HSU had some issues with the first HO driver. I'd want to see how the new one did before investing there.

The HO seemed to be doing a very good job with the driver in it and what ever the issue is it will be fixed and I am sure that the new SVS will be very nice but since you have personally not heard either the same as me I do not know how you can recommend one over the other. The HO is an Adire technology speaker.

I am sure they will both be pretty awesome. You are comparing a box with a cylinder buy the one you think will look the best in your room. I am leaning toward the HSU but you like the cylinder so get the SVS. Not because one of us thinks the new driver in one is better then the other but because it will look cool in your room and impress your friends.

SVS makes a fine product. If you want tube subs, they are the way to go at this time unless you are willing to DIY. Their box subs are fine products as well.

Hsu makes a fine product. I own a pair of HO turbos and two other, much older Hsu subs. Even if the initial HO driver did not meet the intended spec, it is a wonderful performer and the to-spec driver will just be frosting on the cake. The Doctor makes a wonderfully musical product.

Get over the hyperbole on the threads. It is almost impossible to make a mistake with either company's product at a given price point.

Agree...not backpedaling, just agreeing.
