I am planning on upgrading my old 5.1 HT system and am considering SVS and Axiom. Just considering the front speakers first, has anyone listened to both the Axiom M50 and the SVS STS -02 towers? The table lists some data: I think either would be an improvement from my existing Paradigm Titan fronts. If anyone has any experience with these or other options in the price range it would be appreciated.

Axiom M50v3 SVS STS-02

The STS-02 speakers look like they sound nice... I'm a fan of mirror image MTM designs in general and the M50 is just ugly; especially that 1970s boston cherry veneer although their black veneer still ain't pretty.

Haven't heard neither, I'm really in no position to speak though.

I have a 5.0 Axiom system in my bedroom The M22's, VP-100, QS8's. I set the wifes uncle with a Destination Audio F300T 5.1 system and was very impressed but hey it's RBH and they make good speakers. If you want to go with Axiom I wouldn't go with the M50's. Plus for the price of the Destination Audio or EMP you can't go wrong with RBH internet line up. Not saying anything wrong with Axiom but if I was to change the bedroom system, I would look to the EMP or even Aperion. I saw the Aperion guys at audio fest in Denver heard their new floor standers sounded real good. I can't say about SVS but they make great subs.:D

Completely different sounds. The Axiom has a bit more recessed mid-range and more sizzle up top and the SVS are a bit more laid back in general. It depends what your ears like.

Just to add I owned Paradigm Monitor v4/v5 in a 5.1 and I liked the Axiom's better because of the top end as stated above.:D
