What is the channel level for your sub?
I have my sub channel at 0 in the receiver (is that what you are wondering?). Also, I noticed I put 108 dB in the previous post. It was actually 106 dB (typo on my part). I calibrated my sub to run 75 dB with the channel set at -5, so I'm running it a "tad" hot (how I like it). :D

Hit 115 dB at 16 ft from the woofer (room gain no doubt), with MV at -3 dB listening to Bass Can U Hear Me-Beat Dominator. For some perspective, the PSW650 could only go to 103 dB at ~ 8 Ft. I could go higher with the Ultra, but I'm going to stop there...That's 12dB more from one sub. Wow wee. This was brief mind you. Just incredible. Stuff was shaking, and the room was really compressed. The PSW650 is 165W, the Ultra is 750. So to get a 3dB increase in volume one must double the power right? So I'm thinking this Ultra must equal roughly 5 of them in output capabilty huh (sure feels like it)?

hey Croseiv, doesn't your receiver have too much heat? it looks like in the pic and vid that there's barely any space between the receiver and shelf above it.

It has a cooling fan (mod) inside, as well as on the left side (large vented area in receiver case). Actually, the receiver runs quite cool anyways. Even cranked, it doesn't get hot.

hi croseiv,

I really enjoyed your review of the Ultra13. I have just recently stumbled upon this forum and it's your review that motivated me to register so that I, too, could post questions and comments.

I also own an Ultra13 and I'm curious to know from other owners their impressions and findings on the sub. Do you find the current location of the sub to be optimal?

Again, thanks for the review.

Thank you very much! I do actually find it to be my best location for placement. It sounds quite good in that corner and blends very well with my main speakers. Glad my review got you to register here.

OMG!! :D :D pinch me... I just got through ordering the Rose Ultra on the B stock page!!! I looked there the other day and saw only 1 something, but just was viewing this thread, as I do once or twice a day, and saw theres several things on there. Have been thinking the ultra might be a stretch and would probably get a +2, but $1199 for the dream sub. It doesn't come with the metal grill, but I can order one for $5o bucks later. I had to put off delivery by 2 days cause I Have to go to CMH airport Tue and Wed next week. I live in southeastern Ohio so it should be here Thursday. Hmmmm, wonder how I'm going to get it in the house? And, my wife will be gone for next week (yes, I told her I ordered it) so I can get it tuned for her arrival. She will appreciate the sub as well, thankfully she's not bass shy, and she usually in the mood for something loud (movie wise).

I think if I pull the trigger im going to spend the 3 or 400 extra and go new, I have bad luck when it comes to used electronics and even new sometimes. I would just be afraid of why were they returned ? Was it a purchase that put them out of budget? that would be the best you could hope for .

Yes thankyou I think :p I cant stay off SVS webs site, that could be a indication of whats to come :D Now the question is Rosewood or black ? I love the rosewood but everything I have is black ash. Think the rosewood would blend ok ?

I think you'd be better off picking a color that blends with the rest of your decor. The primary reason I chose the rosenut veneer was because of the color of my credenza and speaker stands. I'd think black would suit your set up.

Seriously though I think your wright but maybe I'll eventually match everything around the sub. Seeing yours is very inspiring, it looks so rich and beautiful and matches perfect in your setup

I like the rose, my A/V stand is rose (ish) and glass, and a nearby book shelf for CD's, I probably would of got about anything, were kind of eclectic. Have a walnut coffee table, glass/metal stand for plasma, brass tables...

Well. thanks for the heads up, been checking the B stock on occasion, hasn't been much. When I called he said they put some up last night I think it was.

Need to get my metal grill ordered, I like the looks of it.

Now, I think I will need to start a thread on setting up the beast. The back looks kind of scary. Primarily will be using for about 80% movies, so I figure we want to go low as possible and use the plugs. Right? This have a GOOD manual?

Well, I'm going to bed and sleep till Thursday!:)
