would need to know the height and svs will help you choose which one works the best for your room...here is a pb10 that is used in 2700cu.ft room

I when against the gain on this one and lost. The pb10 is very good sub had mine for 18 months but it didn't quite fill my 20x15x9 room. Over time you'll just want a wee bit more my advice here is bigger is better.

Get the biggest and best you can afford. Keep an eye on the SVS b stock page and you can get some good deals.

Btw...I was in the midst of answering your question but that dreaded maintanance issue creep in. I was impatient and bought the pb10, for a smaller space it would be a good choice. Now, if I had bought the pb12 I might not have needed to replace my sub....than again .

The PB-10 will be good in that room. It also wasn't able to fill my 19x20 high vaulted ceiling room either, but it still did surprisingly well. I'd say go for a PB-12 at least. How much is open to the kitchen? A square room is difficult to get good bass in, so that can complicate things.

the kitchen opening is 18 ft wide and runs through to the nook. so you could say if the sub is against the tv wall the length to the back of the kitchen would be 32' by 18' by 10' tall

That's almost 5800cuft and I suspect that a PB12NSD is going to struggle to fill it.

My room was similar - it was pretty much open to the kitchen, though the kitchen didn't have the vaulted ceiling. The PB-10 was able to hit 18Hz in room, but because of the size, it didn't do it with enough "oomph" so to speak. SVS actually recommended getting a second one as the best option.

nope im debating on saving more and getting the pc-12 plus. The rep told me the pb-12 would struggle in my room. i just cant decide if i like the cylinders.

I have to take a big pass on cylinders subs. Is svs your only option have you consider anyone else?

I personally don't like their looks...maybe for a dedicated room I'd consider one. I thought about going with a larger Svs after I sold my pb10 but decided against it. I would've needed the pb12 plus and that retails for $1400 cdn plus taxes...so I sought out a different route and I'm having someone build me a sub...
