I just don't have to lose all that "playroom" for the kids when we wrestle and stuff like that. It's a well used room and having such an open area, just makes sense.

I moved my sofa's and coffee table to roughly that setup an hour ago and I told my wife that we'd leave it like that for a week and see then. She gave me till Saturday.

Here's another consideration...every monitor I have seen mounted above a fireplace it too high, IMHO. That's why I suggested putting the monitor on a side wall such as the 10 foot kitchen wall. You could have a separate seating area focused around the fireplace.
