so im looking for some good surrounds to go with my athena as-f2.2 fronts I have a marants sr5600 reciever and a svs pb12-nsd sub I was thinking of the axiom m3i's but I cant listen to them before hand. I am looking for some opinions on other speakers you guys might recomend. I would like them to be bookshelf speakers. I live in a small town in south east IOWA and there arnt very many speaker stores near me so I cant really go out and test speakers.

thanks for all the help in advance

if you can't test or unsure of what might match your fronts, the best bet is to go for the Athena B2.2s.

My two cents: I have the Athena F2s as my fronts, and I use the B2s as my surrounds. I like 'em. Very happy with the sound for both movies and multi-channel music. Pretty much ensures a seamless transition.

So yeah, go for the B2.2s if you can find them.

cheers,

would they sound good on their own also? because next year ill be off to college and most likely I wont have room for big floor standing speakers in my room so id just use a 2.0 system so I was looking for speakers that would sound good as rears for that and also sound really good for computer monitor speakers on their own

You can't compare them to the F2.2s

Naturally, the bookshelf Athena Bx.2's won't match your F2.2's in bass or boom but, within their size range, these (and the B2's) more than hold their own against the competetion and they are a quite similar to your F2.2's over the rest of the range.

Here's a bargain for ya, college guy.

In any case, the better and more powerful the amp, the better this family sounds.
