What are you using to for your TV stations? If you are using cable or satellite feed that audio into your surround system. same with the PS3.

We can give you a better idea of how to hook up if you can give use the exact models of your surround system , TV and any other components.

On the back of the receiver there should be a model number. How about on the original box when you purchased it? Where did you purchase it? What store?

I can't find any information so far.

definitely model number sp550 says it on the back, the back of the box has 1x dolby 2 red/white input aux, and 3 x dolby 5.1 inputs. red/white 1x centre 1x back 1x left right, it also has the audio outputs for the seperate apeakers and thats it

If that is the case you are stuck. The only way you could get TV through your Onn unit is to use a satellite TV or cable. Cable systems are not prevalent in the UK. I find people use an antenna or SKY satellite TV. You could connect from a Sky box to your unit. However if you are using an antenna for your TV you have no way to connect the TV to your ONN unit.

We had a request for help once before about those ONN units. I would say they are to be given a wide berth and avoided. I would return it if you can.

after phoning the ONN company they recomended we use a headphone socket, as the audio output.

is this a viable option, and if so what would i need?

Does your TV have headphone socket, and if so what size of output jack? How does your TV get its signal, antenna or what?

If there is no headphone jack on your TV you are still out of luck. Your only solution than is buy an old VCR and drive your TV from the VCR. You then use the VCR as the tuner and connect the audio outs to an audio input on your ONN.

Your other option is to subscribe to SKY TV and use the Sky Box audio output.

The other issue is that Onn unit is a fraud. It only has multichannel analog audio ins. The problem is that a lot of gear now has only digital bit stream and pcm outputs. So if you use the VCR you will have to use your Dolby plx 2 input. That will give you matrixed surround, not true surround. It will be the same for a Sky box as they only have stereo analog outputs. The audio multichannel out is optical. It also has HDMI out which sends audio and video in the same cable. There are different models of Sky Box, and not all have surround and HDMI etc. You have to make sure you order the right one.

If you can return that Onn unit, return it, get your money and run. Then put your money towards an AVR with a modern selection of inputs and outputs, including HDMI. Then you can also get a decent set of speakers.

Are you trying to get it to run with your PS3? if so, you know the ps3 cable the red white and yellow one? plug the red and white cable strait into the sub with the third(yellow) cable into your tv.

although if your tv has no out then your kinda stuck to just having it on your ps3 or any other unit. i suggest getting a new tv with out. i think ive got the same speaker system as you does it have a chrome like line on the mesh?
