I am kind of weird, but if it were me, I would aim the surrounds toward the center of the room and move the couch away from the wall when watching something with 5.1 content. That way you get the best of both worlds, better sound when it matters, and the high WAF of the couch against the wall when sound doesnt matter. Just run it 2.0 when watching TV, 3.1 when watching movies that don't have a lot of surround content, 5.1 with the couch pulled out from the wall for movies with high surround content, and 2.0 with the couch pulled out for critical music listening.
