Suround Speakers - Timbre Matching??

Need your help,

I just bought AV123 Onix Rocket speakers Rosewood: RS-760's (Fronts), RSC-200 (Center), and RSC-100 (Rear 6.1).

I'm trying to find RSS-300 for the sides to no avail. Can I use a different brand for sides or will there be a noticible audible difference?

Are there speakers that would match closely?

I'm new to timbre matching and all.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to AH! From what I've been reading here and there Is you should have the fronts and center match. The sides and rears are not as important(to some yes). I have my Klipsch Icon series matching fronts/center with Wharfedales WH2(Highly Recommend! A member here might have one for sale or check ebay) as surrounds and it sounds great to me. I might add rears with my JBL E20 to jump to 7.1.

What do you want to spend? Do they have to be Rosewood?
I would get the Mirage nonsat's if you need to have rosewood... My surrounds do very little, the important speakers are the ones that make up your front sound stage...
I use regular bookshelfs, but a lot of people say they like the results of the bi and di polar speakers... I heard the innexpensive Fluance bipoles and they souded good.. But I think they did the same thing as my bookshelfs...

Thanks guy's for the welcome and the help!

IMCloud I just so happened to have a pair of Mirage Nanosats (black) laying around last night so I mounted them to the wall to see what omnidirectional sound would be like. My denon 3312ci crossed over the fronts/center/ and rear at 40hz and the nanosats at 120hz. With that said shouldn't I at least try to go for larger sides with more bass output?

I'm going to research the Fluance, HTD, and WH2's and see what I come up with.

Price range? I'd like to stay under $300 for the sides (pair) if possible.

While I'm checking out the other speakers more suggestions are welcomed.

(Edit) I failed to mention everything about the set-up and I'm sorry about that. See below.

AV123 Onix Rocket speakers Rosewood: RS-760's (Fronts), RSC-200 (Center), and RSC-100 (Rear 6.3). Two Rocket UFW-10's (Front) and one Mirage Omni-S8 (Rear) They are in triagular position in a rectangular room.

Thanks

If you dont care about bi-di po and color or size, I use ascend htm200se's and they do the job perfectly, I tried a couple different ones, and the 200s are nice, they are smaller, are very flat and kind of an all business approach to surrounds... They fall in your budget at $300...
