Surge protecting the projector?

Any suggestions for surge protecting a ceiling mounted projector?

What are you guys using?

Where are you putting the surge protector at?

If you've got an APC where are you hiding that?

Best idea I have come up with is getting one of Monster Powers compact two plug units that has the long screw that runs all the way through it and into the outlet for the receptacle beside my pj. Anyone got any better ideas?

Look into Monster Power Protect 200. That should hold you.

The best way is to use a power inlet/outlet setup and run the power back to your main equipment rack. The power then runs through a UPS or surge supressor which you locate within your rack and all that exists at the projector is a single plug in location without any 'apparent' surge supression.

It keeps the ceiling extremely clean, while providing the best protection which you are using with your other AV gear in the rack. They can be had for about $70 or so online.

I have the Monster 2 outlet one you mentioned and it should be more than enough to protect it. Panamax makes something similar if you refuse to buy Monster, and Belkin makes a one outlet model. You definitely want to use something, and IMHO, any of those 3 are satisfactory.

I got an APC UPS for around 60 at Best Buy. Works like a champ. My fiancee turned off the switch connected to is and it kept my projector going lol.
