Got this from Netflix last night. Very interesting film, likely one of those under the radar of many. I saw the trailer some time back and thought it looked good and it is. It is another solid performance from Amy Adams (Doubt, Julie and Julia)
The story is about a girl working as a maid who needs to make a bit more cash, so she starts a business doing crime scene clean up which pays quite well. As you can imagine, what needs to be cleaned up is less than desirable, but what she finds and is conveyed very well in the movie, is that this is a very intense time for all of the people involved in these events. The main characters are fairly well fleshed out and interesting, which really gives the simple story some life.
The trailer has it as a light comedy, but it is more of a drama that actually has some depth to it. The story is good, but it really is the way it was presented, the connecting of the people; the human element, in the story that really gives it that tiny bit extra that makes it very enjoyable. I thought it was very well done. PQ and AQ are very good. The movie is fairly short at 90 min and is light in the extras arena, but what little there is, is at least good since they speak to some gals who actually are doing this same job and their comments are quite funny. Recommended. Throw this in your Netflix.
