Just upgraded my theater to Dolby Atmos. Replaced Onkyo TX NR 5009 with Marantz 8802A and two Sunfire amps. Added four Goldenear HTR 7000's for ceiling. Rest of original equipment is: Triton 2's, SuperSat XL for center, SuperSat 50's for surrounds, two HSU subs, OPPO 103, Furman power conditioner with UPS, Epson 6010 projector, Verizon STB, two rows of Seatcraft theater seats, Carada 170 inch screen, some DIY sound absorber panels from GIK Acoustics.
The difference in sound is amazing. I have only watched the Dolby Atmos demo disc and listened to some SACD music from Reference Recordings. The Goldenears really sing now!
Project started about 3 1/2 years ago when my wife wanted to buy me an 80 inch TV for my birthday. With no where to put it we decided to add a game room. I got into home theater and we decided to add a dedicated theater to the project. We ended up adding 2,000 sq ft to our house. I will try to figure out how to add pictures.
