Sunfire EQ Sig vs. DefTech Supercube I

I've got a small space for a sub but I want big (but not boomy), tactile, musical bass. If I had space, I'd try an SVS or maybe an HSU sub. Since that's not an option, I'm leaning heavily toward the Sunfire, in part because of the EQ function. I've auditioned one of their non-EQ's at a dealer's showroom and really liked it. If I go without EQ, the Supercube looks like a good choice. Any opinions to help me choose??? Both products get great reviews from trade mags and owners alike.

One local, "high end dealer" said the Sunfire (even with EQ) was harder to adjust to room specifics than the Supercube and stated it was the lesser of the two. He currently sells the Supercube but claims he used to sell the Sunfire line and knows what he's talking about. Sounds like a load of something smelly to me. Am I off base?

I have a sunfire mkii sub and two supercube reference subs, close but not exactly what you're comparing. But my front speakers are def tech 7001's which have a supercube one in each speaker (drivers and amps anyway) and i will say that while the ones don't have the extension of the references, they are faster and tighter for music. The sunfire is a great little sub, very tactile, and its small size makes it easy to place behind a chair or loveseat. In april i hope to upgrade the sunfire to a def tech trinity sub, so it'll be on the market!
