Suggestions on what Amplifier I should use.

I recently purchased a pair of Accusound PA-1510 Speakers (250RMS, 500Max) and need a good quality amp to run them. I am still unsure what I want to get, I have a budget of $300 - $400. I'll mostly be using them inside small - medium sized halls (I DJ) but occasionally I may need to use them outside, therefore requiring more power. I have contemplated a few options, the Behringer EP2500, which obviously is more power then I need but I have heard they are good amps and if I ever decide to get some more powerful speakers I can have it as a back up, also there are a few that go for cheapish on Ebay. Also the new Behringer EPQ1200, which seems to me to be a reasonable amount of power. I also had a look at the E-Systems Pro amplifiers. But I am not sure about the brand, seems kind of dodgy . . . anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Behringer should work fine for you, if it’s in your price range. It’s of no consequence if it has more power than you need. Better too much than not enough.

I'd tend to agree with Wayne's thinking. Those guys are 98dB sensitive and go to 25Hz, so indoors they shouldn't need a ton of power to fill just about any room. Outdoor is a different story, so having that amp power for outside means you don't have to think about whether or not you have enough.

Yea that's what I thought. I don't really have the cash to buy them new but there is a few that occasionally go on ebay for cheaper . . . only problem is I need an amp soon and I have already missed two on ebay. The new Behringer would work fine too though right? It is 320 watts aside, and I highly doubt I'll ever need to run them continuously that high . . .

The Behringer will give you more power than you'll ever need. If you want something prettier, Emotiva makes some very nice 2-channel amplifiers.

About 3 weeks ago I went looking for Behringer EP1500 at the usual internet sites. Most were out of stock or refurbished since it is a discontinued model. Googling a bit harder and insisiting on a new EP1500, I found one at Amazon, actually a smaller store using Amazon as their storefront, so to speak. They had very low stock, like 2 to 3 left. I ordered anyway. Lo and behold I received an email saying they were completely out of stock. They offered me the new EP2000 for the same price as the 1500.

Yeah man, I feel good:D

You should give it a shot.

Hah! Nice. Well I wish I could. Sadly I live in Australia and Amazon won't ship amplifiers here :/
