Hi 64met,

Just to make sure that you understand that there are two ways to fix potential proplems with your Integra DTC-9.8

* Your Pre/Pro contains a microcomputer for signal processing and control functions. In very rare situations, severe interference, noise from an external source, or static electricity may cause it to lock up. In the unlikely event that this happens:
#1. Turn your pre/pro OFF (Standby). Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, wait at least 5 seconds, and then plug it back in again.
(You did this one to no avail.)

* If solution #1 or you can't resolve the issue yourself, try resetting the Pre/Pro before contacting your Integra dealer:
#2. To reset the Pre/Pro to it's factory defaults, turn it ON and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [STANDBY/ON] button. "Clear" will appear on the display and the Pre/Pro will enter Standby mode.

Note that resetting the Pre/Pro will delite your radio presets and custom settings.

--> I don't know if you try solution #2, but if you did not, please DO IT.

Good luck,

Bob
Thxs for the ideas... I have however tried both with no luck... I even went as far to check all spkr connections and all is good- very tight. The display on the Integra where my speakers used to show--- is just empty; as if there are no spkrs connected at all? Intersting information about severe interference as we had one hell of a storm last week... and my surge that all my HT gear is on did its job... I reset the surge as well throughout this ordeal... thinking that might be the problem as well.

Thanks 64met for your quick reply. Now, I can rest in peace, knowing that you did try solution #2. ;)

I wish you the shortest time to get back your 9.8 in perfect order.

Meanwhile, do what's best to get back in business without the less damage possible in your wallet. I did already suggest you some nice temporary alternatives.
Here's one more that is only $350, with the Marantz SR5002 (it does have preouts).

* Just scroll down a bit.

This is a very nice receiver for the price that will get you going while waiting for your DTC-9.8, and that you can pass to your son after that or resell without any loss. :)

Cheers,

Bob
