Hi, I am new in this forum and I am wondering if any of you guys have any experience with Autlaw audio 8 inch subwoofer? My room is not that big 35x20 and the question is if 2 of those subs will do the work for music and movies? Thanks for any responses in advance.

Since air space is the important measurement here you should list ceiling height. That’s a very large space but you might be able to set the subs up close to your listening positions and pull it off. I’m not familiar with that sub. Welcome!
 
If the subs are placed close by the listening position, they might work. If that isn't possible, then that room is way too big for two 8"s.

8 inch is not a lot of surface area for a subwoofer although your room is “small.” I would at least try for 2 10’s it should dig a tad deeper and have greater spl. If size is an issue svs makes a 14by14 inch 12 inch subwoofer that’s easy to place in a room
 
Sorry guys, I have a 9ft ceiling in the room. And if you dont think two 8 subs will do, what should I look for? I know it is different with speakers, you can go and hear them in the store, but with subs I dont think that will work.

Store demos are always of limited benefit. Your space is large 6900 cubic feet of air to pressurize. It’s not quite as bad as I’m dealing with but close. How are you for space? A big ported sub like the SVS can require space.how loud do you like to listen?

Moderate levels is fine, and I know svs is a good company for speakers and subs but they are out of my reach (financially)
 
The HSUs and monoprice’s monolith subs are highly regarded as excellent budget options. I have a SVS PB ultra and a little sealed 700 dynamo from Martin Logan. My space is even larger than yours. I have the giant ultra in the corner for room gain and the little dynamo set nearer to my listening area. It allowed me to lower the volume level on both and filled out the room much more evenly.

If you have space I’d suggest buying as large a ported as you can afford. Then if it’s still lacking for your liking you can always add another later.
 
Svs, HSU, PowerSound Audio. In my humble opinion and internet browsing those are my three favorite subwoofer companies.
 
That's not a small room but that is a small sub, That sub would be like pissing on a forest fire to put it out.

A sub's job is to move air and to do so takes surface ares and movement (excursion) to do so, The larger the room, the more air needs to be moved. The larger the sub, the better off you are.

Hsu VTF3 or VTF15H... Outlaw x-13... SVS PB or PC 4000... Monolith 15...
Or something larger still... ;)
Best advice I heard and will pass on to you, here:
Buy the best single sub that you can allow yourself to afford now, then start saving for a second matching sub.

I lived for years with an undersized and underpowered sub. Never again. Yes it gave, um, bass. But it wasn't until I had my X-13s that I understood how much distortion was involved, and how little output it gave. Now I have BASS. Infrasonic frequencies and low distortion are at my fingertips. The cabinets don't rattle anymore... the house itself trembles!

If you are going to do it, do it right... or do it again later on, likely with a tear in your eye 'cos you will have already spent some money for inadequate woofage.

35x20x9 isn't "that big", eh? :) Is that a sealed off space or open to other rooms? ;) I'd be thinking 8s but with a 1 in front of the 8.

Uh, what link was what I was going to say then took another look and see your link hiding amongst the emoticons! :) He needs moar video skills, couldn't take but 20 seconds of that. Nice sub of course but I'd go separate boxes, so he needs two of those :)

Agreed: it was brutal watching this dude move that beautiful box'o'woof around for 3 minutes. Especially watching him slide it around unprotected on his carpet. I was hoping they would show it hooked up and blasting the kid into the air. :p
Unfortunately, no such payoff.
But damn.

Need at least three set up with the Noesis 215RTs! Maybe go for the Low Profile version of the subs. ;) Maybe.

Agreed, if there’s an 8 in there it should be after a 1. Or qty-8.
