That's what I thought too, but they do call it the "High Output" (HO) option, so...
The HO for "High Output" is the designation of the sub, not the add-on device, which is called a "Turbo". The VTF-HO has a 500 watt amp as opposed to the VTF-3 with its 350W. The "Turbo" is a port extending/sub tuning device that extends the bass to ~17Hz +/-3db and requires a slight mod to the amp. The Turbo may be added on to existing v-2 STF-3 and VTF-3s (amp mod suggested).

Or so it is my understanding. To date, there has been a bit of a mystery surrounding the specs. But all things come to those who wait........ (Right, Peter?) ;)

Gotcha. So it DOES extend the response. It CANNOT be added to any existing VTF-2 or -3, (v2 as you said) it can only be added to the MkII versions, which have a port location designed to work with the "Turbo".

In the words of the immortal Fonzie....Correctamundo! The Turbo option is only being provisioned for the STF-3 and VTF-3 MkII. But, the inventive mind of Dr. Hsu is always churning....... ;) Who knows what's around the corner?! (DSP? EQ? Subs that double as popcorn makers during movies. :) )

I don't know if you've purchased a sub yet or not. The SVS is by far the best sub for solid, clean good bass. Not boomy in any way. In fact the SVS will out perform the other subs hands down.
If you have purchased a sub other then the SVS already, you can purchase the SVS and compare. I would say it is safe to say you would be bringing the other sub back. Of just save yourself some time and get the SVS PB 12-Plus/2

It's a beast. :D

have you even heard the other subs? or even the plus/2? you said you owned the pb10.

you talk about svs like they were your new religion. They do seem like great quality company, and i might go with the plus/2 actually. But i wouldnt say they were by FAR the best. especially since i havent heard it.

I've owned an HSU sub also, and they make excellent products as well. Not one bad thing to say about them. :) I've also heard some amazing DIY subs. I love SVS and they are definitely a great value, but not the only one :D

Yes I have a SVS PB-10 ISD. And yes I have heard the PB12-Plus/2. I am ordering the PB12-Plus/2 for myself also. I was going to go with a Definitive Technology Supercube Reference. But the SVS PB12-Plus/2 is so much more sub with cleaner bass.

The PB12-Plus/2 will perform like 2-3 Supercube References. To me, offering 2-3x the performance for ¾ of the cost. However, the PB12-Plus/2 enclosures are large. So you’ll need to be prepared for the size of it of course.

I Auditioned the B&W ASW750 sub today. It doesn't even come close to the SVS.

Is SVS the best? It's all Personal Opinions. My personal opinion is yes.
