Also, if I remember it right, the room is open on two sides. (to the foyer/kitchen) and one to the dining/breakfast nook (as well as the patio).

Honestly save up and get the VTF-1 MK2 it's worth the extra 120 bucks to get into the 20s with real headroom. I simply can't advise buying any of these other options. If you want a subwoofer not a woofer. I'd say it starts with the MK2.

You don't need a sub right away and it would be worth waiting and getting a better sub to not have one for a while.

The more you save the better you will get. 1000 is where subs start to get really good and if it takes a year to save up for one it's worth the wait IMO.

I haven't shown him (he saw them, didn't listen to them yet) how the dual VTF2's sound alongwith EMP E5Ti's (LCR). Need to drag him for a listen hopefully today :)
