Subwoofer recommendation based on room size

I have a fairly decent size room that is 18L x 14w x 11H (vaulted ceiling).

I used an Elemental Designs sub for awhile until the amp burned out. What sub would you recommend for a room this size? I'd like to stay around 500-700 if possible. If thats not realistic Im all ears.

I want to do it right this time with a reputable company.

Thanks in advance

You can get an Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX for $600 shipped at the moment, but that is a father's day sale and probably ends tonight. It's a reputable sub, lots of bang for your buck and has been around for awhile. If you can't pull the trigger right this second, but can push the budget a tad, check out a Hsu VTF3 mk4, $750 shipped, one of the most reputable companies out there. Its like an improved version of the Outlaw sub.

You could also get a replacement plate amp from parts-express if you wish. But shady's recommendation is excellent. Also, SVS PB-2000 is worth considering.

It looks like the HSU is 649 fathers day deal. Which would you choose?

If the ed served you well just pick up another amp. Plate or external if a a retro fit isn't possible

If looking to replace, the Hsu would be my choice this evening. Replacing the plate amp on your existing sub will probably make it easier to sell, or ain't nothing wrong with running dual subs. :)

I was debating this option, BUT im afraid Ill get a new amp and the driver will fry. Elemental Designs is no longer in business.

I was satisfied with the Elemental sub for what I know. Now Im looking to upgrade and get something from a company with a solid reputation.

Well, you have an hour and a half to decide. No pressure.

I went with the Outlaw. It was shipped free. The HSU had a 99 dollar shipping charge.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sure the outlaw will serve me well.
