I have an RBH 12" powered subwoofer (not sure which model) that I picked up on craigslist recently and now it is not working. When I power it on it will give a small thump and then nothing when I apply a signal. I tried using level calibration from my receiver and also using a cable connected to my smartphone playing music (RCA connection on the sub for both.) One question is should the sub play using an input from a smartphone? I would think so as it is sending a full signal. I checked fuses and they are fine. The sub also has an auotsensing on/off switch setting and when I set to this it will turn on when a signal is sent from the smartphone. I leave the sub switch in the on position and throw a power strip to turn things on and I was wondering if this is bad for a sub. Any particular electronic things that can be checked with a test meter on subs for such a scenario?
