Subwoofer plus tower sub integration question

I have a pro sub 1000 from definitive. I was thinking of buying Definitive bp9020 towers with integrated 8" subs. My denon x1400h only have 2 lfe outputs. My question is would running the front channel speaker wire to the sub and the out to the fronts with the towers set to large send the right lfe signals to the subwoofer? I would then run the two LFE output wires from the reciever to the towers' subs. Please ask me to clarify if I sounded confusing.

The LFE channel is separate from the other channels. Running front channel signal to the sub would just send it full range content.

I think the better way to do it would be to just split the sub output and run it to the sub and the towers LFE input. Then each sub will get LFE content and using bass management crossover you integrate them with the rest of your speakers.

Just to clarify, slipt one output for the towers and then one goes to the pro sub 1000? The por sub 1000 also has the high pass filter on it if that makes a difference.

That would make the most sense to me.

I haven’t used those towers myself but it looks like it’s just a passive tower with a power sub built into the same cabinet. So I’d think you can treat it as a standard speaker/sub combo for wiring and settings, they’re just occupying the same space.

As far as I know, you should to set the crossover on the sub itself as high as it goes and using bass management in the AVR. There are a million different scenarios but that’s what I’ve seen as a common best practice.

How much do you plan on spending the towers? IMO the “subs” in them aren’t really subs. I would recommend buying towers without subs and put the money towards another subwoofer. Or sell the original pro sub and use that money plus the difference saved on the regular towers and put it towards bigger or better subwoofer/s
