Hi
I am looking at a Yamaha receiver model no RX-V890, and it seems like it only has a low pass ouput at the back of the receiver. Is it equivalent of subwoofer output? Thanks for your answer in advance. ,

Yes, it is. The function of that output jack is covered on page 11 of the owner's manual. If you don't have a copy, you can download it for free from Yamaha at this link here (go to the "Downloads" tab).

I'd copy and paste the info here, but the PDF is secure, and I'm too lazy to type it all in. :)

one more thing

Thanks a lot for help Adam. There is another thing I am not quite sure about. Does this receiver have automatic setting for the speakers and crossovers or I have to adjust it myself? I have the manual myself but I did not find anything about "setting the speaker to small or large" and other related crossover stuff.

The only info that I see in the manual is that the low-pass filter for that output is set at 200 Hz with a slope of 6 dB/octave. I don't know if it adjusts the signal going to the speakers if you plug a cable into that jack.
