I was very interested to read this (don't know how I missed it before). I've been contemplating the SB12 (Probably mid November that I'd order one) as I have limited space and want a sub with the performance I want for mid to small room two channel music (and music only) system. I'm not looking for super loud/thundering bass but I think the SB12 will give me enough of that for when I want it since my listening levels aren't nearly as high as yours and the room isn't as big.

Interesting to see you felt the PB10 surpassed it in performance, I don't think I want to go for something that big though, it's just a little too much!

I can definitely understand that. I just have to balance the output I'd want with the fact I can't have it taking up much space. Sounds like your listening levels are quite a bit higher than mine :D

Definitely enjoyed these reviews though.

Thanks for the helpful review!

Sir I already have DLS3750R from velos and itching to get another one for my stereo setup. Now saving up for my ultimate sub for HT which was inspired by you to get the PB-13 Ultras from SVS. Do you think I can bear the torture of waiting while having both DLS3750R for movies or forget the other velos and go straight with the SVS to shorten the waiting time.

Pls. PM if you dont mind, how much the damage for the SVS PB13 Ultra shipped to Manila.

Many thanks!

IMO, you should go for the Ultra - i tried the dual dls-5000r and DD18 at the same time - they were not in the same league as the single ultra

are you also from Manila? will pm you landed cost

you mean for music use? (sorry when i think stereo, i think dual subs :D )

i don't think you can ask for more from the ultra, it's been tested by third parties to have very flat frequency response, very low total harmonic distortion and does not compress until very high SPL levels.

unfortunately, i don't do "musical comparisons" between subs. i'm not sure if aside from the ground plane tests and room location, if there are other "musical" aspects that are immeasurable and only heard by our ears.

when you come back to manila, let me know, you should just listen to them yourself :) (i'll be in the US until the 15th though)

I think he'll regret going to your house. After he feels your setup he'll want more Ultras :D
