Best bang for the buck is the SVS or HSU. The only Paradigm I would recommend is the Servo-15 and it costs a lot more then the ID brands for very similar performance. If money is not an issue; go for the Servo; if it is go ID.

I have the STF-3 from Electronicsforless and the PB12-Plus from Sonicboom. (Note they are both run by the same guy) I don't have experience with the PB10, but you said 70% movies, so personally I'd go with the STF-3. If it were primarily music, I'd go PB-10. That's my opinion/vote.

If you feel adventurous you can build your own using one some of the best bang-for-buck drivers on the Canadian market from Mach 5 Audio. I used two of their MJ-18 drivers for an Infinite Baffle subwoofer and they are very good quality for their price. Thick surrounds and solid cones, excellent for $79 CAN. This assumes that you can build something with it, and while people use these drivers in boxes and tubes, Infinite Baffle is where they excel. I know that my system, which costed me about $450 USD, greatly outperforms anything in its range.

I can give you more details if you are interested :)
