Subwoofer dB Level Poll

Offhand I can't remember how I set my sub up in terms of DB relative to SPL/Audysses. However, I do know I spent time fine tuning it by ear while playing music until the sound was smooth and seamless. I can't stand a thumping bass which doesn't blend with the music. I suppose then I like it flat....

I've got things set up for a relatively flat response, but I'm not exactly opposed to bumping up the low end a couple notches from time to time.

I kept my sub at the level the UMC set it to because it sounds correct to me for most material. It sounds just right for movies, however not always for music, so I switch to analog where I can tweak the sub to my liking without affecting the UMC's settings.

Do you tend to find it a bit hot for music, or too lean?

Audyssey seems to set my sub slightly hot via the trim levels, and even hotter with its EQ target curve when left to its own devices, so just curious.

For music it seems to come in a bit light at times, while for blu-ray movies it seems to be pretty good for dtsHD and DD TrueHD tracks.
