Subwoofer cable that's not 75 ohm?

Can this cable be used for connecting a subwoofer to an AVR? It's rated at <90 ohm.

And can it also be used as a signal cable between a pre and a power amp?

They say it can on their site.

How long will the runs be?

An important consideration would be potential interference. Good quality RG6 can be had inexpensively and should come with a solid copper conductor and double shielding: much better suited to an intermediate to long cable run.

For me, I would pass on this product as they give no information about the conductor or shielding.

***EDIT: I spent some more time looking at the Van Damme site rather than the retailer... I get these are pro audio cables and should seemingly work fine. Strangely still had a hard time locating the specific product used in these patch cables. As before, yes, you can use them. Is there possibly better suited product? Yes. :) Really comes down to your usage, and whether you will be running past power cables, distance, etc. :)

The longest run will be 33 feet (10 meters). What I like about this cable (I have some experience with it), is that it is really flexible, and easy to handle. I have used other cables before, that are really stiff, and hard to place into corners, etc.

I couldn't find the specific product on the Van Damme site either. On the Designacable site, one end of the cable says "Tour grade" and the other says "Classic XKE Instrument". There are no such cables on the current Van Damme site. Strange.

Ya... that was a frustrating search.

I use RG6 cables for my Subs in the form of the Monoprice High Quality Subwoofer Cable... both are 25' runs, and one has a parallel stretch with power cords... and no interference. Though thicker/less flexible, it does have two layers of shielding and a 18AWG conductor, which for Monoprice is pure copper.

End of the day, it's up to you to decide on the usage parameters... your system, your ducats. My concern would be 33' run is pretty long with a thin cable (I saw 25AWG mentioned a lot on the Van Damme site) and the interefernce potential over that distance is high. If you are familiar with Monoprice, you can tell I'm not trying to sell you on anything fancy... really not trying to sell you on anything. :) Just consider the run, what other cables or sources of interference you might be up against, and then choose accordingly.

Cheers!
