Get two of the 12" Cadence's here. They're only $189 shipped, and are not a cheap sub. I think they weigh in around 55lbs a piece with a 350 watt amp and 70oz magnet. I wouldn't recommend them if I didn't hear them. You can't get the bass from the one 10" svs compared to two of these, although the 10" svs is the best 10" under $500 - I do agree. The 2 Cadence's will probably overpower your system - just something to keep in mind. They only go down to 25hz, but that's more than enough.

No doubt the AV123 sub is a great bang for the buck sub. Also fit and finish is second to none, they're beautiful cabinets. The above poster does have an excellent alternative idea and that's buy a kit or diy with a partsexpress or madisound driver. You can build a sub rather easily and for 500 bucks it will kick butt I can assure you. You do need to have some help on the enclose design for the particular driver you choose but both madisound and partsexpress have speaker building forums with many very nice people with plenty of experience. You should consider kits if you don't want to build a cabinet and veneer it yourself. Good luck.
