Subs - JBL, Yamaha and which Dayton...Help

I am looking for a $100 - $200 range sub to go with my Athena point 5( I plan to get a pair of Athena AS-B1 to replace the mains later). My use will be like 70% movie and rest music.
Last week I got a chance to listen to the 10” JBL E150PBE, 12 “JBL E250P and the $99 Yamaha SW215 at BB(all playing the same Jazz). I was expecting a lot from the JBLs. Surprisingly, I found the Yamaha much better in terms of producing tight bass as compared to the boomy JBLs. The 12” driver JBL was more boomy than the 10” driver one.

I am neither experienced nor an expert to distinguish between the ‘GOOD’ sound and ‘BAD’ sound. All I did was just finding out what I liked. So far, I am used to only an 8” Sony sub that came with my old HT package. So, both of JBLs and Yamaha sounded better than what I heard before.

However, I am planning to buy neither the JBL nor the Yamaha. I am closing in on the Daytons. There is no way I can audition one of them. So, I have to depend on your input. Are the Daytons boomy like the JBLs or can they more like the Yamaha? Which will be more suitable for my room of size 20x12 feet in the basement? (I don’t usually play them very loud)

Dayton seems to have good reviews. That's why I am inclined towards them..Plus they have a sale now..

Please help decide
Thanks

For your size room, your going to want a fairly powerful subwoofer. I would recommend the 12inch front ported dayton one if its in your budget.

Yes I believe that is the one. I could only find the 10inch version, their website is hard to navigate.

Hope this helps,
