My brother jus bought a power acoustik fubar12 and went to hook it up and there was no power to it. The amp works and all the wiring is correct. What exactly is wrong wit the sub and could it be fixed?

If everything but the sub is know to be working components, then one of the tinsil leads may have come disconnected from the terminals. Check and see if one is, and if it is, re-solder it, if not, the voice-coild is toast, get a new sub.

Is it a dual voice coil sub? If so, try each coil independently. Then check the polarity of each coil to verify they are correctly labeled. Incorrectly labled coils can lead to cancellation when wiring, resulting in no output or movement.

Your brother actually bought something named FUBAR? Please tell me he didn't buy it off a white van in a parking lot.

Nothing against your brother or his subwoofer choice, but those subs are a waste in my opinion. They have a huge surround, which is basically useless, because the woofer's motor cannot make full use of it in a linear fashion. A wel constructed woofer with more surface area an smaller surround can easily have the same output and better sound quality. They also have very high power handling which requires the use of a large amplifier. Unfortunately the woofer is not real efficent, so much of the power is wasted in heat rather than turned into output. One would be better off with say a JL Audio 12w1v2 or 12w3v2.

Looks like he needs a new one anyway. Might look into mtx or maybe JL
