Come on now Frank... don't be that way..

Most of us on here are all about Bang for the Buck... and when we make suggestions we're just trying to help people save money, and have a great home theater experience at the same time...

I personally have heard the F113, both in a showroom, as well as in a home theater... that had 4 of them.. Yes 4.. they sounded simply amazing to me.

Now did I think they were worth what I would have paid for them... to me no.. obviously to many yes they are worth it.. But I like a ported sub.. especially for movies...

I have the SVS's and I like them very much... they are very good subs, for a modest price, but there are better products out there.... But I chose to go DIY and build something that I cannot buy in a store, and from others that have built what I am going to build, they will be better then the F113.. but that is yet to be determined... But I know you won't be able to buy one in a store...
And 2 big boxes made from Cherry covered with granite at the price of 1 F113. To each their own... :)

Please enjoy your purchase, the F113 is a great sub... Just not for everyone. Different subs do different things for different people.

I know a number of people on various sites that have or are selling their F113, as its not what they really wanted out of a sub.. thats not that they don't like it, just they wanted something different in terms of subwoofer sound.
Well thanks for the explanation. I realize that there is a different sounding speaker for everyone. Subwoofers are very hard to distinguish for sound in proportion to ones listening enviorment. I did not want to offend anyone yet I feel that I have invested a lot of my money in a theater that I regard as being a GREAT home theater.
I will grant that the Fathom 113 is not for everyone. Just like my B&W 804's are not for every audiophile. However the combination of the B&W's and the Fathom do make a great home theater for some people.
Perhaps Iresented reading all of the negatives about the Fathom and took them too personel.
There is nothing wrong with buying audio and video equipment online. I have purchased the Outlaw 990/7700 combo about a year ago.
I love them.
Yet I have to say that if I could afford a MacIntosh I would go for it. It does not mean that the 990/7700 is not a good processor and amp. I can handle people not liking the B&W's, the Fathom and the even the Outlaw but have some mercy. When I read somehing on this forum reviewing equipment I feel if people cannot afford it they trash it.

Thanks for helping calming me down. I am enjoying my system and hope the the Fathom continues to kick me in the chest.

Four F113's? How HUGE is that home theater? Huge is an understatement.

PS Good luck with your Sub project. I would like to know what equipment you will use to build the subs. Top to bottom.
